Overview:
Rethinking the Instagram Experience
Instagram is designed around constant discovery, interaction, and content consumption. This project explored the existing experience to identify usability gaps and opportunities to make everyday interactions more intuitive and engaging.
The Challenge
With a large amount of content and multiple features competing for attention, users can sometimes experience friction while navigating, discovering, or interacting with content.
The goal was to look beyond the visual interface and understand how the experience could work better for users.
Objective
To analyse key parts of the Instagram experience, identify user pain points, and explore opportunities to create a smoother and more meaningful interaction flow.
My Approach
I approached the project through a combination of UX analysis, user behaviour observation, and interaction thinking.
I focused on:
Understanding existing user behaviour
Identifying usability gaps
Analysing navigation and interaction patterns
Exploring opportunities to simplify the experience
Translating insights into improved user flows and interactions
The Outcome
The project resulted in a redesigned experience focused on clarity, ease of interaction, and better user engagement, while retaining the familiarity of Instagram's existing ecosystem.
